The Continental Corporation Automotive Group and Northwood University are partnering to provide automotive undergraduates and graduate students with insight to career opportunities in the global aftermarket industry. Continental Marketing Director Donald James announced the "Ambassador" program during a recent presentation to students at the Northwood University campus in Midland, Mich. "Northwood's automotive programs represent one of our industry's most valuable resources," James says. "As global organizations like Continental continue to pursue new market opportunities, we will rely on Northwood and other world-class universities to produce the next generation of talented and dedicated aftermarket professionals."Developed in part by James and Matt Bennett, director of corporate and specialty programs as Northwood's DeVos Graduate School of Management, the educational and career development program will deliver information on key market trends, emerging business areas and employment opportunities to students on Northwood's campuses in Midland, West Palm Beach, Fla., and Cedar Hill, Texas. Launched in 2003, the Continental Ambassador program encourages Continental executives to reach out to students at leading universities through classroom workshops, presentations, Continental plant visits and other on- and off-campus activities. Continental has supported nearly 300 ambassadors and more than 500 ambassador events worldwide. As a supplier of brake systems, powertrain and chassis systems and components, instrumentation, infotainment solutions, vehicle electronics, tires and technical elastomers, the corporation contributes toward enhanced driving safety and protection of the global climate.
