Honeywell Friction Materials — in an effort to strengthen it global position in the aftermarket brake business — has appointed Roy Eastham to director of global aftermarket engineering and global engineering processes.

“To effectively use resources, we are consolidating the engineering responsibility for the aftermarket on a global basis and focusing on the worldwide standardization of our engineering processes,” says Dr. Rainer Bostel, president of Honeywell Friction Materials. “With a deep original equipment background, Roy’s skill set in product development, application engineering and process optimization gives him a unique advantage in tackling the industry challenges the aftermarket business faces globally.”

Eastham, who has been with Honeywell for 10 years, has over 30 years experience in the friction materials business, having held roles in both Europe and the U.S. He has played a key role in numerous projects and products that have launched all over the world. Located at the company’s Troy, Mich., facility, he most recently served as Director of Engineering for North America, where he was responsible for leading research and development and product validation testing for all U.S.-based friction projects.

In his new role, Eastham will concentrate on the entire global aftermarket business for both the Bendix® and Jurid® brands. He and his team will also be responsible for streamlining and standardizing Honeywell’s global friction materials engineering processes and systems.
