President Barack Obama is organizing a Council on Automotive Communities & Workers to address issues affecting American communities and workers in the automotive industry.

The President is expected to this week sign an executive order to establish the council, which will be chaired by Larry Summers, the president's economic advisor, and Hilda Solis, Obama's labor secretary, according to the Associated Press.

Ed Montgomery, Obama's director of recovery for auto communities and workers, will be the council's executive director.
