ContiTech?s Power Transmission Group is making things quieter for the OEMs. The company has developed a special automotive V-ribbed drive belt that puts an end to problems typically associated with cold starts, dampness and pulley misalignment ? and is quieter. ContiTech displayed the belt in its booth at AAPEX 2010.

Fras-le, part of the Randon Companies, knows that in order to create quality products, it has to have quality people and programs in place. Speaking with Aftermarket Business World at AAPEX 2010, Fras-le President Daniel Randon says the company has put a large focus on being environmentally responsible. The company, he says, meets international certifications (some for nearly 15 years) and has a task force committee in place with representatives from all of Randon Companies businesses that meet monthly to drive environmental practices.

Among all the booths on the AAPEX show floor this year, only a few feature companies that have been around for eight decades. This year, the OTC brand of SPX Corp. is celebrating its 85th anniversary by showcasing its new tools and products from OTC, Actron, Robinair and Sunpro. The company has grown from a small machine shop, Owatonna Tool Company, to a global supplier of special tools and diagnostics.
