Keystone bids to acquire Arrow Speed Warehouse assets at auction

Source: Aftermarket Business

Keystone Automotive Operations, Inc., has bid to acquire certain operating assets of Arrow Speed Warehouse, a distributor in the Central and Southeastern United States. On Sept. 21, Arrow Speed Warehouse, based in Kansas City, Kan., filed petitions in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri for protection under chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code.

Keystone's bid is subject to competing bids pursuant to an auction process to be approved by the Bankruptcy Court. The Bankruptcy Court will also approve the final sale of Arrow's operating assets.

Keystone has bid approximately $12 million to acquire inventory and other operational assets of Arrow Speed Warehouse and other affiliates, which distributes a wide variety of product lines nationally to customers via their warehouse facilities and sales offices.

While the market and economy have challenged the automotive business in particular, Keystone is well-positioned to pursue market opportunities as they arise, according to the company.

Arrow Speed Warehouse has been recognized for its customer service, creative solutions, and ability to recognize and meet the needs of the market, which makes its assets attractive to Keystone.

"We are excited about the possibility of integrating Arrow Speed Warehouse's customer base into Keystone and will work hard to earn their business," said Ed Orzetti, chief executive officer of Keystone Automotive Operations. "The most important drivers of our business continue to be execution, delivery, service, and accountability, and we believe this potential transaction would help Keystone to grow our business and to support stability in the automotive accessories industry."

Too bad for Arrow. Looks like the market will get worse before it gets better

Keystone's customer service is the worst! Hate having to buy anything from them!

Too bad Keystone will be more worried about absorbing their customer base than they will be about taking advantage of Arrow's excellent customer service abilities. And, do not believe them if they tell you they will keep your local warehouse open after the buyout. Keystone promised the Dallas warehouse from the Reliable Automotive purchase would not close, but as soon as they thinned the stock out that warehouse closed right down. But why would you really need a warehouse in Dallas, not like there are many trucks in the area, right?

Man that sucks. I really like Arrow Speed...

Arrow lost its identity years ago. The word "Speed" was long gone. Too bad for the great people who built the business from the ground up. Especially the phone room past and present. As for Keystone, good luck. Go Motorville! Make Eldon proud!

Its sad to see Arrow in trouble but the truth is with the mail order and chain stores it is almost inevitable. The traditional W.D.'s are falling and stumbling. The chain stores, with their ability to command capitol from their shareholders, gives them an almost endless resource of assets. As an independant, I'm finding it harder and harder to compete. Just remember also, that when the independants are all gone and all that is left are the big chains, there will be no more "friendly competition" and prices will jump sky high.

Keystone totally sucks in everyway imagineable. Arrowspeed really had excellent customer service and the best prices. Keystone enslaves small businesses that really do all the work in selling their products while they reap all the finacial rewards. Keystone is so ridiculiosly GREEDY!!! I feel sorry for all the small businesses that will have to try and endure Keystones nonexsistant customer service , ignorant sales associates , and the $50.00 dollar a month website charge just to look at their overpriced products!!!
